The area of the malga is located on the border with Trentino at an altitude between 1650 and 2050 m. Its pastures occupy the entire southern slope of the mountain that gives it its name and also includes what was once the alpine grazing area of Malga Fondi, located farther north. The area of the malga has rolling slopes and rich pastures alternating with vast wooded areas with spruce trees, larch trees, and dwarf pines, as well as areas thick with bushes. The flora and fauna of the area are those typical of the high mountain: extremely dry pastures characterized by the widespread presence of dwarf juniper, which needs to be frequently cut down in order to recover alpine grazing areas. Given the area\u2019s considerable naturalistic and environmental value, mushroom gathering is prohibited in some areas.
\nThe malga can be reached following the dirt road that goes from Malga Porta Manazzo (Val Formica-Larici area) to Passo Vezzena, with a route closed to traffic and also suitable for families.
