The Malga is surrounded by mountain pine forests and shrubs. It is located in a strategic place near the crossroads from which the connecting trails with Mount Zingarella and Zebio to the east, Bivio Italia and Cima Dodici to the north, and Campogallina and Cima Portule to the north-west begin.<br \/>\nDuring the First World War, this area was the theatre of severe military battles, being in the immediate rear of the Austro-Hungarian line of resistance, the so-called \u201cWinterstellung\u201d. Very visible signs of those tragic events still remain throughout the entire malga area. Well connected from a road network standpoint with localities to the north of the Plateau and equipped with restaurants and hotel services, this malga is very popular with tourists and hikers that usually visit this area on foot or by mountain bike, especially in the summer months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Malga Galmarara pastures are situated in an ancient glacial valley surrounded by steep slopes.
