Wide, rocky steps and wooded areas alternate with prairies which, from May to July, produce colourful blooms, including that of rare species. Thanks to the sheep grazing terrain, the malga produces sheep cheese. The site of bloody battles fought during the First World War in June 1916 and late 1917, it is the starting point for the routes of the Ecomuseo della Grande Guerra Prealpi Vicentine which lead to the spectacular Melette di Foza where they are indicated in a special notice board.<br \/>\nNearby: a Bosnian war cemetery (one of the rare Muslim cemeteries on the Plateau) and the \u201cCitt\u00e0 di roccia\u201d, a unique group of red ammonite chalky boulders modelled over time by karstification and the continuous alternating of the frost and thaw cycles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malga Slapeur is located on a prestigious landscape along the western slope of Monte Fior, between Val Miela and Valle Sbarbental.
