The road that goes up from contrada Lazzaretti di Foza, after a long section that runs through the spruce and beech wood, arise at the great Piana di Marcesina and the first malga you encounter is Malga Ronchetto, situated at the start of the right side of Val Gadena. It is precisely its proximity to the well-known Piana and to the Ronchetto Refuge, which carries out agritourism activities, that makes it a particularly popular area for tourists, especially in the summer season.
\nA peculiar characteristic of all the pastures of the Piana di Marcesina is that they are located on the large accumulation of sediments that originated about 16.000 years ago during the last W\u00fcrmian glaciation.
\nAmong its pastures are mounds of rounded, wall-like boulders collected over the years to increase its forage area.
