The malga is situated at the center of the Piana from which it takes its name, characterized by vast spruce woods, and stretches out from the Campo di Sopra woods all the way to the Passo della Forcellona. Looking eastward from the malga, a damp, fenced in area is clearly visible. It is the Torbiera (peat bog) Pal\u00f9 di Sotto, formed over the millennia due to the soil that had become impermeable and in the presence of water springs. The eastern sector of the malga area also includes the \u201cBusa delle Vitelle\u201d and the \u201cBusa di Pozza Secca\u201d, the Conca shooting range and the westernmost portion of the Torbiera di San Lorenzo. In the vicinity of the malga, numbered memorial stones are still visible with the image of the lion of San Marco, positioned by the Venetian Republic in 1752 on the current Trentino border.
