Malga Campo Est is situated near Monte Corno and offers an incredible view that overlooks the plain down to the Venitian lagoon. The pasture area of the malga extends also towards the enchanting Valle Granezza di Gallio and is bordered to the south by hazelnut trees. Near the malga a low characteristic wall in limestone slabs to limit one side of the pasture is still visible. From there, the paths of the \u201cPoilus Hiking Rings\u201d may easily be reached – \u201cpoilus\u201d from the nickname for the French soldiers who fought on the Plateau during the Great War and that were so named because almost all of them had mustaches and beards (\u201cpoilus\u201d means \u201cthe hairy ones\u201d in French).
\nNear the malga, you can also visit the former French Cemetery of Granezza di Gallio.
