A high-altitude malga, Quarti di Verena extends over the mountain\u2019s southern ridge from which its name is derived. The pastures alternate with spruce and larch woods, in an environment rich in flora and fauna of great quality. Pastures,woods and Alpine ponds here create a charming peaceful place. This area was severely hit by the Vaia storm, a natural event that destroyed thousands of acres of woods in 2018. Through this malga the CAI 820 trail runs which leads to the summit of Monte Verena from Malga Campovecchio, where you will find the Fort with the same name: from this fort on May 24, 1915 the first cannon fire was shot that marked the entering of Italy into the First World War.
