Starting point/Arrival: Osteria Trattoria Fontanella (Lusiana)
Recommended direction : Counter-clockwise

Starting point at Osteria Trattoria Fontanella. Take the uphill road following the directions for the Osservatorio Astronomico of Cima Ekar. Pass the Osservatorio and continue towards Malga Campocostalunga. At the Malga Campocostalunga fork, turn right following the downhill trail that keeps to Malga Melagon (after you have passed by the marble quarries). From here, continue north towards Malga Melaghetto. When you are at Cippo Niccolai, continue left until you reach Contrada Bertigo. At the fork with the provincial road, turn left towards Turcio locality and move left again at the next roundabout until you return to the starting point.

General information and news

The itinerary is in the eastern part of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, not far from the main inhabited centers of the central basin. The route passes through the locations affected by the “Battaglia dei Tre Monti” (Battle of the Three Mountains), probably the greatest field artillery battle of the First World War. Before arriving at Malga Campocostalunga, visitors can stop near the giant yellow bench and enjoy a wonderful scenic view over the entire central basin of the Plateau.

At Cima Ekar there is an observational station of the Padua Astronomical Observatory, one of the most important on a national level along with the one in the Pennar locality. For information on guided tours and educational activities: Stazione Osservativa di Cima Ekar

From Turcio locality, the itinerary can also be extended southward about 30 km, also integrating the A2 route.
